Equities Prop Quant Analyst/Developer.

This role will be involved in quantitative microstructure research and analysis of European / US / Asia markets tick data with a view to contributing to profitable proprietary trading strategies. The candidate should be able to develop and implement his/her own analysis and algorithms. Additionally, the candidate should be comfortable working as part of a team based in different geographical locations. Initially, it would be anticipated that the candidate would work in London but could transfer to NY or HK/Tokyo at a later date.

Candidates must have a strong academic background in a numerate discipline (Maths, Physics, Engineering or Finance) with MSc/PhD research qualification preferred. A solid background and understanding of statistics, probability theory and optimization methods is essential.

Candidates must also have good knowledge of US market and market microstructure along with knowledge of algorithmic intraday trading, US equities market regulations and compliance issues.

Excelent technical understanding with a strong ability to code in Java/C++, Matlab (or equivalent software) and SQL and becapable of handling and manipulating large volumes of market data in software is necessary.
