The opportunity

If you are driven by results, fascinated by a world "Where Trading meets Technology" and are eager to work with a high level of responsibility, then working for IMC financial markets might be for you!
We are currently seeking Junior Traders to join our European or Australian trading teams to start in Amsterdam, Zug or Sydney in February 2013 or August 2013. As a Junior Trader, your career begins with an extensive international in-house training program at our Amsterdam and Chicago offices giving you the opportunity to meet fellow (Junior) Traders from all IMC offices. You will learn trading, programming and our systems through courses and trading simulations developed and delivered by experienced co-workers from various departments. After two months you will start doing the job yourself! As of day one you will be given a lot of responsibility and take ownership of your development. After this, you will continue to learn from your highly skilled peers.

Are you ready to take on this opportunity?

As a Junior Trader, you will have the following responsibilities:

• Pricing and trading a range of financial instruments
• Managing execution and risk of complex trading portfolios
• Developing, maintaining and enhancing trading models, algorithms and systems
• Researching new market opportunities and analyzing current market trends

Qualifications and education requirements:

• MSc or academic BSc in an analytical, quantitative or technology related field of study
• 0-2 years of work experience
• You possess a solid basis of Statistics and Probability Theory
• Your analytical, mathematical and numerical skills are excellent
• You process, interpret and apply new information quickly
• You have a passion to find solutions for unfamiliar problems and problems not having an exact solution
• You are able to think on an abstract level and simultaneously taking a pragmatic approach
• You have an interest in IT / software / systems
• You have experience with VBA or Matlab and preferably also with programming languages such as Java and C++
• Interest in financial markets is a must, but no prior knowledge or experience is required
• You have the ability to act and perform successfully in a fast-moving and high-pressured environment
