Hello Readers,

I am an electrical engineering trained for digital signal processing. I prefer to program in Matlab when I can, but I can use other languages as well. I have written copious amounts of code for performing backtesting, an am confident that I can now make some small profitable trades using algorithms.

The infrastructure that is used for setting up a system like this requires several parts and, there are several solutions reported throughout the internet. I have tried setting up a few of these, but dont find them too friendly.

I was impressed with the knowledge base of this forum. I am hoping that some individual(s) might be able to describe, thoroughly, how to set up an system for performing algo-trading including interacting with a(n international) broker. A thorough step by step guide seems to be absent from the nets, if I am mistaken please point me in the correct direction.
