London based statistical arbitrage hedge fund is seeking a junior level portfolio manager to trade their market neutral equity portfolio. You will be heavily involved in creating and designing new execution strategies, which can be implemented via the in house automated execution system.

My client is a specialised equity long short statistical arbitrage fund. With a phenomenal performance last year, they are focused on building up the fund and marketing and introducing new strategies. They are in need of an extremely talented, hungry equity statistical arbitrage trader, who is keen to take on the responsibilities head first, with a view to becoming head of trading. You will be expected to design and implement systematic execution strategies for European and US equity baskets and index futures. My client is expecting the trader to be able to program the execution algorithms in C++ or .NET. You will be expected to be extremely innovative and able to think of new execution strategies to combat changing markets.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a young trader to take on a huge responsibility and challenge. You should have at least one years experience working on statistical arbitrage execution strategies, ideally in equities. Your experience should be from a world class Hedge Fund or programme trading desk at a top investment bank. You should have a first class academic record from a top tier university in Mathematics or Theoretical Physics. A further degree will be considered advantageous. You should have experience programming ideally in C++ or .NET.

This is a wonderful opportunity to join a rapidly growing fund and be exposed to significant responsibility very early on in your career. My client is ready to pay well and the right candidate can be expected to negotiate an extremely healthy cut of PL.

Please contact our algo trading group at trading@ekafinance.com or t.kaul@ekafinance.com or alternatively call +44 2079035114

I am working with a new (<1 year) prop trading house whose main focus is high frequency FX. The firm is very technology focused and is currently looking for strong C++ developers with experience on low latency, high frequency coding. The technology (including ongoing investment into a HPC) is predominantly UNIX based. Experience of sockets (TCP/IP) could also be advantageous. My client are hiring aggressively and there are several open positions.

The firm has been making very high returns and reinvesting heavily into the technology and business. Outstanding, experienced candidates may be offered equity share in the business. This is a chance to be part of a cutting edge trading house from the ground up.

Please contact me for more details.

Core Java Developers/Software Engineers - Sydney
Reply #12 - 11/05/10 at 05:53:37

This is a rare opportunity to play a key role in the design and development of a global, multiple asset, High Frequency, Automated trading system.  This is not playing at the edges – it is full-bore, software design and development from the ground up.

To succeed in these roles your background will include either:

1.      Deep core Java development with experience in Algorithmic or automated trading systems

OR

2.      Deep core Java skills working with low latency, distributed computing technologies with a clear desire to move into financial markets technology.  This will include multi-treading, design patterns, OOP and OOD etc…

It is likely that you will have gained such skills in Telecommunications, Defence, Science, Research, Software Engineering, HPC, Artificial Intelligence, Real-time Software or similar.

And ideally…

3.      Solid mathematical ability is preferred – i.e. engineering, statistics, physics, science or similar background.

Either way, this is a chance to join a team about to build a new system, from the ground up that will be deployed domestically, regionally and ultimately globally.

You will be working an expanding team of Software Engineers, Algorithmic Developers, and Quant Analysts with this global firm.

If you feel that you have the relevant skills and experience please email Andrew.Crisp@hamble-exec.com in confidence.
